We NEVER ask for payment up front for UK to UK jobs, and only ever charge 10% deposit for overseas jobs.

We NEVER ask for payment via Western Union or any other money transfer agency. All payments are cash on delivery, and are fully invoiced.

We NEVER book jobs through 3rd parties - ie the Motorcycle seller. We ALWAYS personally ring both ends of the movement to liaise and confirm arrangements.

If anyone you are buying a bike from says they are using Headstocks; please ring US on OUR LANDLINE to confirm that we are aware of the job - and have at least quoted for it. Ask them for the quote reference that we gave them. This is to help safeguard yourselves against sending money for a bike that maybe doesn't even exist - it does happen. If it is dodgy and they sense you are checking them out hopefully they will move on to some other poor devil. If it's a genuine deal - as thankfully most are - then the seller will fully understand you wanting to confirm the quote and relevant details with ourselves.

Likewise, if you ever get a call or an email from someone who says they are from Headstocks and have been booked by the seller, and they are asking you for payment of the transportation fee in advance, then it DEFINITELY isn't us!! You could do us a favour and make a note of the number they ring you from so we can pass it on to the police. Its an ongoing thing sadly - the internet is full of people trying to make an illegal penny at the expense of trusting internet users, and destroying the reputation of honest family based companies such as ours, that work very very hard to please.
