We are a small, friendly and extremely efficient Transport Company, that was established in the late 1990’s with the sole intention of transporting motorcycles at a top class professional level around the UK and Europe.
Each and every member of the workforce is a dedicated and extremely keen biker - delivering bikes and handling them as if they were their own, and treating them with the attention and TLC that comes with it :-)
Much different, I am sure you will agree, from the average Transport/Shipping company that has been asked to ‘shift’ a motorcycle - and will treat it as any other package - say no more!! :-)
I myself have been a biker for many years, and I know, as I am sure you do, that you could use 200 feet of rope to tie a bike down, BUT if you don’t do it properly it will go over at the first roundabout. We are all fully trained and experienced in strapping bikes down. We use brand new, fully adapted Mercedes Sprinter Vans, professional ratchet straps, foam padding and so on, and only ever have four bikes on the van at any one time - ie you will be paying for a quarter of the van, and your bike will NOT be touching any other bike :-)
The bikes are all covered and padded and totally protected and safe in transit. Its also worth mentioning that we treat all bikes with the same level of TLC - whether it’s a brand new Sportsbike fresh from the crate, or a restoration project in the form of a rolling chassis and a load of bits in boxes!
You will always be treated on a personal level, we are not a massive corporation, with an anonymous identity where you speak to someone different everytime, and have to explain who you are and so on. You will always speak to the same person, who will know exactly what your booking details are, locations/times of collection and delivery and so on.
Communication is extremely important to Headstocks Transport Company, and you are free to call or email us at ANY time, with any query no matter how big or small, or even just to get a progress report - I know I would if it were my bike being transported:-).
OK - basically what the service is, is a fully insured and time guaranteed delivery service on behalf of either the seller of a bike, or similarly collection of the bike on behalf of the buyer, or as I say simply transportation of your own bike(s) during a house move, or to Classic Bike shows etc.
We try to be as competitive as we possibly can, having bought the bike the last thing you need is a massive transportation bill to take the wind out of it! :-)
When you start to look into the cost of hiring a trailer, hiring a van, taking a day off work, losing a weekend, cost of petrol, spending hours in traffic etc etc you can see that the prices we quote are very reasonable. I must also point out again, that we use brand new vans, fully adapted and suitable for the job, your bike won’t be on an open trailer, so you don’t have to worry about getting stones and dirt thrown up at it from the road!! :-)
Whether the bike was bought off an internet auction such as Ebay or anywhere else, or maybe its your own bike and you are moving house and need the bike or bikes transporting to the new house we can always help :-)
You also have the peace of mind and reassurance of knowing that we transport bikes and only bikes, the van is adapted and equipped to do the job, and your pride and joy won't be wedged between a washing machine and a piano!!
Communications will always be spot on, and we can guarantee an efficient, professional and above all friendly service, we try our utmost to answer all quote enquiries within 2 hours. All phone numbers and the email address will be contactable between 7am and midnight 7 days a week.
***As you can see we are not just the regular Transport Company - we are all TOTALLY PASSIONATE about bikes and all things bike :-) Your bike will be handled, loaded, padded, covered and strapped down by a passionate bike loving biker - NOT just a van driver “shifting a bike”!! We make a point of keeping both the buyer and the seller fully aware of what is going on regarding times, dates and so on. And when we contact both with the day of collection/delivery we allocate a 3 hour slot in the day - so you don’t have to stay in all day waiting for us :-)***
If the distance between the buyer and the seller is more than 200 miles (each way - ie 400 mile+ round trip) I will charge £175.
If the distance between the buyer and the seller is more than 350 miles (700+ miles round trip) the charge will be £195.
If the distance between the buyer and the seller is more than500 miles (1000+ miles round trip) the charge will be £245.
And finally, if the distance between the buyer and the seller is 600 miles each way (1200 mile+ round trip) the charge will be £295 - because the chances are it will be the only bike going that far out :-). I feel, and I am sure you will find that this is still extremely competitive though :-)
On the other hand if the distance is less than 100 miles I will be able to do it for just £125 :-)
The way we can do it so cheaply (bare in mind the service includes full insurance and door to door collection and delivery) is simple, all we ask is that you agree to give us up to seven days to deliver the bike. That way we can assure a few bikes to collect in the similar regions nationwide, so in other words you will be splitting the cost with every other buyer and seller in that area as well!!
Simple but effective. We are a very genuine and honest family run company and you can trust us completely with your pride and joy. We are long term bikers ourselves and understand what bikes can mean to people, also the importance of treating them with 100% care and respect (a bit like a good woman ;-) !! ).
If you would like to make a booking or receive a precise quotation, simply contact us via email or phone, letting us know the two points of collection and delivery.
We will then calculate the mileage using RAC-routeplanner, and inform you of the exact cost of the job - within two hours!!
We GUARANTEE there will be NO hidden extras or charges to pay - the quote you receive is the amount you will pay if you choose to go ahead. :-).
We will supply you with all our details, address, contact numbers, both mobile and land line, (which you are welcome to use at any time) etc, so you know who you are dealing with and you can always speak to the same person - so you aren't dealing with an anonymous company where no-one knows what's going on!!:-)
When you are happy with the quote and would like to confirm the booking, simply contact us again with both addresses, and a contact phone number for both parties - also mobile if at all possible. We will then liaise between both parties and ensure everybody is agreeable with the dates and times and so on.
The next thing you know the bike will be on your doorstep - safe and sound - and we work on a cash on delivery basis - so you don’t have to pay a PENNY until the bike has been delivered :-).
